ich möchte von meiner Sony-Kamera importieren.
1. Bei Einst. 'neues Projekt' kann ich bei Aufnahmeformat nur QuickTime anklicken - also bekomme dementspr auch nur mov-Dateien, ich möchte aber lieber avi
2. Wenn ich dann auf 'Aufnehmen' gehen und den Button 'Szene' anklicke, wird trotzdem der Film in einem importiert - ohne Szenen!
3. Es werden grundsätzlich nur 23 Minuten importiert, der Timecode läuft weiter, aber nur 23 Minuten Film werden aufgenommen!!
4. Gibt es die Möglichkeit mit einem anderen Programm (besitze Creative SuiteCS4), den Film direkt auf Festpl. zu imortieren, ohne ein Projetz zu erstellen, denn ich möchte erst einmal alle Filme archivieren um sie später zu bearbeiten!
Es wäre schön, wenn mir jemand helfen könnte. Ich hatte vorher einen PC und habe mit Canopus/Edius gearbeitet und darum nicht so viel Ahnung von PremierePro.

Was für Aufnahmen? Szenenerkennung braucht funktionierenden Timecode und DV/HDV.
zu 2) habe vom Band (Sony Kamera mit Dv-Band) aufgenommen (Inkl Time-Code). Dort hat die Szenenkennung gestern das erste mal geklappt, allerdings sind die Clips nur in Premiere sichtbar, im Finder nur das komplette movi. Lieber wäre mir wenn die Clips einzeln und individuell einsetzbar wären.
Kann es sein, dass bei mir z.T. Timecode/Szenenkennung nicht funktioniert hat, wenn das Band vorher schon einmal bespielt war?

zu 3) Ich habe 2x 1TB Festplatten, eine nur für Filme, daran kann es also nicht liegen. Ist irgendeine Einstellung bei mir vielleicht auf 23 Minuten gestellt? Habe aber keine entsprechende Einstellung gefunden!

OnLocation (oder iMovie lol)
zu 4) OnLocation hatte ich auch schon probiert, aber hier bin ich auch nicht weiter gekommen. Ist das nicht nur wenn man live Filme aufnimmt, oder was mache ich hier falsch! IMove habe ich auch schon bei einem Film versucht, aber wenn man schon ein Leistungspaket wie die Creative Suite hat will man sich nicht unmedingt mit iMove abgeben. Ich habe noch mindestens 50 Filme auf Festpl zu übertragen, da sollte es schon optimal genutzt werden.

I get this error message each time I start Adobe Premiere Pro CS4:
'Communication error between PremierePro and 'Importer Process Server'. Try to restart your system.'
I start to get this error when I updated Windows Xp Pro x86 from the Service Pack 2 to SP3. With the previous version Premiere worked just fine. I tried to restart the system but the error is always there. Googling around I read that maybe I need to reinstall only Premiere, but I work in a private TV and I don't have much time to uninstall/reinstall the software. I added Premiere and all the others Master Collection softwares' to the Windows Firewall/Avast exceptions, without any results. I know that CS4 works very well with Vista and 7 (I use it on my home PC with Windows Vista x64), but here I can't change OS or upgrade to the CS5 (because it's x64).
Anyone know how can I solve this problem?

you might have a 'restore' point saved .( system restore ) that is a date before you installed the sp3 upgrade. See if you can use that and get it back to working OK
otherwise, maybe try to uninstall all cs4 stuff, use the clean tools as described in the forums, defrag your program Hard drive, and reinstall cs4 stuff..
Unter WIN XP SP3 in CS4 gibt es Probleme mit WMV. Wenn man ein WMV9 oder ein WMV8 erstellt und es in einem Windows Media Player 9 abspielen will, dann erscheint das Video nur als vertikaler Strich.
Upgraded man den Medienplayer dann ist das Video OK.
Schaut man das Video in einem Nero Show Time an, dann ist das Video OK.
Aber in einem Standard Windows Medienplayer 9 gibts nur einen vertikalen Strich.
Es muss ein Fehler im neuen Adobe Medienencoder sein. Denn mit denselben Einstellung codiert zum Beispiel Premiere Elements dasselbe Material gut und der Medienplayer 9 spielt es ab.

Yes I checked these positions all - I re installed even Acrobat 9 and InDesign CS4 - without any success.
InDesign CS3 is running well and clean - I think it is a problem between Acrobat and ID, for a long time the export was working.
I was trying to clean both programs before re installing, but the cleaning of ID failed, so I have the old settings (after export in PDF can't start the Acrobat for viewing), so I assume a setting-error in ID.
Maybe I go back to ID SC3, this program running without problems.
Is there a cleanup-program known for ID CS4?

ich versuche gerade die Testversion von Indesign CS4 zum Laufen zu bekommen. Es erscheint die Fehlermeldung 'Lienzierung für dieses Produkt ist abgelaufen'.
- es ist das erste Mal, dass eine Testversion von CS4 installiert wurde
- bisher war nur eine Testversion von PaintShopPro 7 auf diesem Rechner
- Windows-Plattform
- es war noch nie eine Testversion o.ä. von Indesign auf diesem Rechner
Ich habe auch schon mittels der Forensuche nichts gefunden, was mir weiter helfen könnte. Das einzige, was mir in den Sinn gekommen ist, wäre dass die Testversionen vielleicht nicht unabhängig voneinander zu installieren sind. Damit meine ich, wenn man mal vor einigen Jahren irgendeine Testversion von Adobe installiert hat, man keine andere mehr installieren kann - aber wo wäre dann da der Sinn?
Es ist einfach sehr ärgerlich. Bin nur heute bei meiner Tante zu Besuch und wohne sonst in einer ganz anderen Ecke in Deutschland D:

ich habe auf meinem Rechner keinen Ordner mit dem Namen MACROMED oder
MACROMEDIA gefunden, obwohl in der registry Verknuepfungen vorhanden sind.
Ist es moeglich, dass dieser Ordner in Zusammenhang mit Shockwave steht ?
'Freehand' ist ebenso unbekannt.
Durch welche Programminstallation werden die Unter-Ordner (Macromedia,
Freehand) erzeugt ?
Versuchsweise haben wir heute die Testversion von Adobe Acrobat XI Pro auch
auf den Rechner meiner Frau Roswitha Götz installiert.
Das OS ist dort Win7 Home (32 Bit). Das von mir beschriebene Problem tritt
nur in der Form auf, dass die Menues (Datei, Bearbeiten usw.) verschwinden
und wieder erscheinen, wenn man mit dem Mauszeiger diese Befehle beruehrt.
Die Menueleiste wird nicht vergoessert. Aber das Erscheinungsbild der Adobe
Acrobat veraendert sich unter Unmstaenden so, dass die obere Kopfleiste, in
der sich das Schliesskreuz befindet, ebenfalls verschwindet.
Leider ist so ein vernuenftiges Arbeiten mit Adobe Acrobat XI nicht
moeglich.

versuche verzweifelt aus einer Exceltabelle mit ca. 10 Spalten einen kleinen Katalog zu generieren. Klappt soweit auch. Nur wenn in einem Feld keine Angaben sind, weil es dort z.B. kein Attribut gibt, verweigert Indesign den Import. Es kommt dann folgende Fehlermeldung:

I have tried for several hours to make the new install of Adobe CS4 work. The Lightroom2 install worked fine. Background: I have a macbook pro, OS/X 10.5.7, enough avail disk space. I had a trial version of LR2 and full CS2. I have done the following: checked 'repair permissions' - an OS/X utility that interfered with operating Capture NX a couple years ago, so I added that step. I have uninstalled every Adobe application, using Clean Script 3 and Clean Script 4. I have tried to install CS4 in a separate user account, which has since been deleted, and again both Clean Scripts have been run. I have restarted my computer and downloaded a fresh version of CS4. I have tired to install it as a Tial version instead of an upgrade, also. It NEARLY installs, but at the very end of the install bar, after Bridge and before finishing Photoshop installation, I get a big red X and an error and find it is Error 2. The Adobe support pdf's have not helped, including those referenced by their little support bot.
Have spent a couple hours with Adobe Support, also. No one knows what Error 2 means.
Also, the 'support' person closed my case as though it had been resolved - said he would call me back in one hour and 2ours 45 minutes later had not called back. He CLOSED the case, wasting my time and lying to me.
I have just committed the cardinal sin of allowing my daughter to install Adobe CS4 Web Premium on my new Mac Pro 2.26 8 Core.
I use this computer for pro music composition, and until I allowed my daughter to talk me into letting her use it for Adobe Web Premium (24' Apple screen, she has a PC laptop), it was strictly a no fly zone.
My worst fears were realized.
Neither she, nor I, can't get a clean install. Each attempt is greeted by a 'Successful but with Errors' or some such garbage. I have submitted a support requerst but have had no reply.
The new Mac died. Apple replaced it with a new computer under Applecare Warranty, and a new hard disk, but still the problem remains.
I've tried a new partition; nope.

I tried to download the Adobe Support Advisor, but it would not download. I have erased the registration, followed the instructions to the letter.
Nothing.
Adobe help in Australia were polite but did not resolve the problem. I called again and was greeted by a call centre somewhere in the Third World by someone who knew less about computers that they did about Adobe products. This poor person probably has a good job within his impoverished community, but undoubtedly paid a pittance (or why would Adobe set up a Call Centre in India), which make s it really hard to vent my frustrations without appearing racist.
I am attempting to take over the problem as there is no way a seventeen year old girl could negotiate this. I can't.
Has anybody any clues?

Ich habe seit heute das Phänomen, das wenn ich bei einem PDF etwas mit dem TouchUp-Objektwerkzeug anwähle und im Illustrator bearbeiten möchte, ich nach dem schliessen und speichern im Illustrator, im PDF das ausgewählte Objekt versetzt angezeigt wird und alle aus Illustrator anwählbaren Marken (Schnittmarken, Passermarken usw.) mit angezeigt und plaziert werde.
Das habe ich befürchtet.

ich habe ein problem mit meinem mac store auf meinen mac book pro funktioniert alles super aber auf meinen imac stimmt etwas nicht ich konnte schon länger nichts mehr aktualisieren als ich os x mavericks runter geladen habe konnte ich es nicht installieren was mein größtes problem ist (im launchpad ist der button os x mavericks installieren ich kann das Programm auch starten bis zum letzten abschnitt wo es installiert wird dan bekomme ich die Meldung: beim vorbereiten der Installation ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. versuchen sie das Programm erneut durchzuführen) wenn ich mich nun beim mac store anmelden will kann ich mein Passwort eingeben aber das Fenster verschwiendet und taucht wieder auf ohne das ich angemeldet bin (zweites großes problem)

Falls Sie nicht wissen, ist ein Mavericks v10.9 5.35GB Datei und requries ein Hochgeschwindigkeits-Breitband-Internet-Verbindung.
Langsamer Download-Geschwindigkeiten werden in der Datei abbricht, bevor es zu beenden führen kann.

I'm no longer able to import my movies from my Sony camcorder. I was able to do so in July so I'm assuming there's a problem with the latest software. The camcorder is connected via USB (it show its connected) but iMovie does not come up with the import prompt it used to, nor can I select from Import (it only shows the built-in camera). I have more then enough space, I've tried multiple USB cables, even disconnected everything else, re-booted, powered down the camcorder--everything. Please help, this is very frustrating!
You don't say which camcorder you're using.
Many Canon camcorders will NOT work properly with anything else, e.g; an external disc, on the FireWire circuit. Sorry. For those, you'd need to import to the internal disc and then copy to the external, and continue editing with the external drive.

Some camcorders are not properly recognised by iMovie at first. It pays to open a project which already has some footage in it, play that and then attach the camcorder and try importing. Playing back some existing DV footage often - in my experience, anyway - 'kick starts' the program into accepting more footage from the attached device.
But that only works if (a) the drive DEFINITELY is formatted as Mac OS Extended, and (b) you're NOT using a Canon with an external disc.

Vor ca. einem Jahr bin ich in die Adobe Creative Cloud eingestiegen obschon ich etwas dagegen war. Meine Kreditkarten Informationen einfach so bekannt zu geben.
Alles lief ohne Probleme ein halbes Jahr lang bis wir die Kreditkarteninformationen wechseln mussten.
Es gab bereits Probleme mit der Mehrwertsteuer aber wir dann in eine Team Cloud wechseln wollten wurden uns ein zu hoher Betrag abgerechnet. Wir beanstandeten diesen zu hohen Betrag aber nicht einmal Adobe Support war
im Stande dies zu ändern und bat uns abzuwarten da Sie intern dies klähren wollten. Ein paar Tage später hatten wir plötzlich anstelle eines tieferen Betrages ein 'Neues' Abonnement auf der Kreditkarte belastet. Eine erneute Beanstandung
mit dem Support ergab weiterhin Probleme mit interner Software seitens Abobe und man könne momentan nichts tun. Wir wissen vom Vorfall dass Adobe vor Jahren mehrerer Millionen Kreditkartendaten gestohlen wurde, so sorgfälltig

a 88.95 (384.25) Franken abgebucht und mir sind die Hände gebunden. Adobe schafft es nicht meine Abos weder zu verwalten noch zu korrigieren. Der Support selber versteht nicht einmal richtig Deutsch. Schade solche Mitarbeiter zu beschäftigen!
Der Support ist kaum erreichbar, nur Telefonisch und sonst kommt man zu einem chat, hat jemand für mich eine E-mail Adresse? Ich finde diese Art und Weise wie mit Kunden umgegangen wird einfach schade. Keine Hilfe mehr bzw. geschultes Personal welches
im Stande ist einem zu helfen bzw. Probleme zu lösen.
Ich werde versuchen in Zukunft bei Avid oder Final cut mein Glück zu finden, dieser Adobe Software Konzern ist einfach nicht in der Lage eine saubere faire korrekte und freundliche Dienstleistung anzubieten.

Ich war noch nie ein Cloud Fan aber jder denkt Heutzutage das ist doch eine coole Sache weil Apple damit angefangen hat oder was? Hauptsache man kann sich Cloud nennen. Wahnsinn wie Kreative!
Andere Möglichkeiten gibt es ja nicht! Schade drum. Ich sehne mich nach einer Installationsdatei via CD oder DVD ohne dass Dir einer täglich vorschreibt was Du zu tun und lassen hast und Dich monatlich daran erinnert für etwas zu bezahlen
welches nicht einmal wirklich toll funktioniert. Oder funktioniert Dein 'Untertitler' bei Premiere? Haha nicht einmal der Support von Adobe wusste wie er geht und verwies mich auf Adobe TV!

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

On the principle that misery loves company, I'll add my report here. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.2. Once a week or so, the Adobe updater interrupts me to try to install Adobe Media Encoder CS 4.2.0. Inevitably, it reports:
Installation Incomplete
Adobe Media Encoder CS 4.2.0 failed to install.
I doubt I make much use of said encoder, but what do I know. I'm primarily an InDesign user with a small amount of Photoshop work. I guess I'll just continue ignoring this message.

Hallo alle zusammen,
wir haben ein ziemlich merkwürdiges Problem mit den Textrahmenoptionen von Indesign. Eins vorneweg: wir haben ein recht umfangreiches Indesign-Dokument (CC 2014) mit ca. 76 Seiten.
Nun zum Problem: wenn wir die Textrahmen auf 'Automatische Größe >> Nur Höhe' setzten, haben die Textboxen plötzlich die unglaubliche Größe von 36396 px. Das sprengt natürlich das ganze Layout und alles manuell noch einmal nachsetzen ist sehr zeitaufwendig. Und die Seiten noch einmal alle neu zu setzten natürlich auch.
Wir haben schon vieles versucht um den Fehler irgendwie zum umgehen (Format-Vorlagen löschen, Text in neues Dokument kopieren, Format in idml speichen, ..) Leider alles ohne Erfolg.
Weiß vielleicht jemand einen spontanen Rat oder hatte jemand schon die Problematik? Achja, der Adobe-Chat funktioniert leider nicht!

Ich versuche hier mal die Server-Infos zu geben. Ist ein MacMini mit externem SAS was Freigaben bereitstellt. Der MacMini hat ein OSX 10.10.2 mit dem Server 4 installiert.
Das Netzwerk ist TCP und ohne zusätzliche Firewall. Funktionierte mit dem 'alten' OSX Server 6 auf einem OSX 10.6.8 auch gut. (Mac OS X Server 10.6.8)
Die Benutzer arbeiten an Windows 7 Rechner und haben die SAS-Freigaben, welche auf den Server definiert wurden, gemountet und wollen dann immer Dateien direkt aufrufen und bearbeiten.
Welche Angaben felhen denn sonst noch?

I've been experiencing a lot of problems lately with several CS4 products.
First, and the worst, is that there seems to be some severe audio bug in After Effects when handling mxf-files. I pre-cut a project in premiere CS4, shot with a Sony EX1, and then imported the project in After Effects CS4.
In premiere everything worked fine and I had all the audio. In AE however the audio matched with the MXF-files disappeared (Yes I had the import audio box checked). All other audio worked fine from the music tracks and so on, but the MXF-files (MXF for NLE) was completely blank, the waveforms were completely flat. I checked every option there is in AE regarding audio and tried enabling and disabling XMP ID's and so on. After a lot of tweaking and testing I understood that the problem was not with any settings anywhere, the MXF-files lacked audio even if I started a new project and just imported the MXF-file.
The problem seems to be connected to when importing from Premiere. My colleague was editing a similar project on his computer in After Effects without problems, and he started out fresh in AE (didn't pre-cut in premiere). However, we tried to move my project to his computer, to see if the problem was connected with incompability with my hardware or such, and he got the same problem as me when he opened the project. Waveforms on MXF-files were completely flat. Certain confirmation that the problem was not connected with my computer appeared when he later reopened his own project, that had worked fine before, and audio was now completely gone - waveforms flat. An hour later, by chance, his audio suddenly popped back.
I have experienced this problems in two different projects in different forms (but both pre-cut in premiere). In the first, audio disappeared while previewing but was there when I ctrl-scrolled and rendered (no I hadn't muted audio in the preview panel). In the second, audio was completely gone even when rendered.
In both cases I tried saving and restarting the computer, reimporting from premiere, starting a fresh after effects project and only importing the mxf-files, changing the project settings, fps fixed to the correct instead of auto, changing output audio mapping, changing XMP, and so on in every possible way and combination I could imagine.
At my company our suspicion is that After Effects flags mfx-files imported from Premiere in some wierd way, to strengthen and ensure compatibility between the two - regarding different audio tracks, settings and effects from premiere (and this is almost what you could suspect that the XMP ID is for, but as explained with or without doesn't change a thing regarding this). We have no problem with the pure MXF support for AE, as MXF-files work just fine in After Effects if you import them directly and have not imported them through premiere earlier (but after a file has been 'flagged' you seem to be sc***ed)
Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I missing something huge?
As additional notes, the dynamic link function seems extremely buggy and both premiere both sometimes complains about 'dynamic link already in use and only one connection blah blah' even though only one link is used, and even though you restart the projects, programs, computer, whatever.
In furher addition Adobe Media Encoder (which also seems to be using some sort of dynamic link offspring) is super-buggy and most codec formats either doesn't start to render or just renders partially and then the program hangs. The problem have a connection with a process named pproheadless.exe eating upp all the RAM (4gbs).
(My workstation has been working smoothly for one and a half years and I have had very little problems with CS3 and 'just' AE CS4. I am cautious of updates, don't have spyware and use Quicktime 7.5 as 7.5.5 is superbuggy and people seems to have problems with 7.6 and it doesn't fix the gamma issues anyway.)

Dude, that's what these forums are all about. Everyone in here says they dont work for Adobe, but they all act like apologists for what is clearly a disaster of a software release. My complaints aren't as specialized as yours, just very basic, and I wont go into all of them, because the list is long, and includes nearly every program in CS4.
Thirtysomething imdb. I'm going for a refund, either from the retailer or my credit card company. Releasing software like this is dishonest.
